An extra manga chapter depicted the perspective of a Falmuth soldier.
He lost his wife prior to the war and have to take care of his two children. He volunteered to join the war to support them.
He survived the initial wave of Megiddo, but Rimuru found and killed him, before promising that he would not kill his children.
Just goes to show that war is nothing more than old men with power sending young men to kill each other.
