I never hated the animation of season 2 and I find it decent. It's just the season 1 set the bar too high. And yeah this episode alone is better than s3 combined. 💀

Season 2 didn’t fall short in animation, it felt short in direction as season 1 was perfect in all aspects , i.e. animation , music, screenplay, direction, voice acting etc. It’s quite common in a lot of shows, when season 1 is too good, it’s quite hard to recreate the same quality(for ex, True detective) and deliver the same level.
Season 2 was decent it's just that the sound design was weird, the pacing is off sometimes, the OST choice and some directions were momentum breaking and the character designs have blush on for some reason.
Season 3 got the designs and compositions well but my god the downgrade of the animation is atrocious

Dr. Kuseno acted ignorant when he's the one who created G4 in the first place to study King abilities, but was actually surprised when Genos was the one who defeated it. I'm lucky to rewatch this episode.

Wtf i though season 3 animation decent tho but after watching s1 and s2 man i realized how much they have degraded animation😭 it doesn't exhibit emotions and feel at all
I'll be honest, even IF for some reason it's impossible to bring the same team who did season 1 back and we got an animation and art direction on the same level as season 2 for season 4, I'd still be okay with it even tho I wish we'll get something better, I really do. Season 3 is massive massively a disappointment even for an average watcher like me who doesn't have too high of a standard for animations quality as long as the story is engaging, ss3 make it hard for me to even enjoy in the most simple and comedy moments, the entire season felt rushed and soulless except for episode 8 which is the only good episode we got so far. SS3 feels like a project that someone's forced to finish rather something they wanted to do.
