Episode 28：It Would Be Embarrassing When We Met Again
Episode Summary：
In the last first-class mage exam, Serie allowed Frieren to pass. After that, it’s Denken and the rest take their turns. Once the exam is over, there is a mysterious bond between the participants that wasn’t there in the beginning. And so, the day for Frieren to leave Äußerst came closer.

📖Synopsis：
After ten long years of adventuring, the mage Frieren alongside the hero Himmel and his party members has defeated the Demon Lord and brought peace to the world.

As an elf that can live for more than a thousand years, Frieren went to travel alone, with a promise that she would reunite with Himmel and the others later on.

50 years later, Frieren visited Himmel. However, in contrast to her being no different from how she was 50 years ago, Himmel has aged a lot and doesn’t have long to live.

A short time later, after seeing Himmel passes away before her own eyes, she finally realizes that she has never made any effort to “understand people.”

With that regret, Frieren heads on a journey to “understand people.”
On her journey, she will meet with all kinds of people and deal with all kinds of things.

  5. I always came back to rewatch wirbel flashback and motivation. It remind me of goblin slayer ideology. So what if the demon king goes rampage? So what if demon general wreak upon the earth? The world stage of event is hardly matter to peasant and most people. We small people just try to make ends meet and live happily.

    Demon king? Demon general? Even just one ordinary demon or monster pack could wipe out a village. You could talk and dream grand, but common people are just trying to survive, and often ignored as if they're just statistics

  11. Wahhh just finished this anime after a year of putting it off… It’s totally my cup of tea but I delayed watching it for a long time for some reason. I think I understand why now. If I had watched this a year earlier, I wouldn’t have adored it as much. This story is indeed an experience. It’s a simple premise, and yet it’s told in such a beautiful, gentle, and sincere way. It’s a story that teaches the importance of cherishing the time that you have and treasuring the people in your vicinity from the perspective of an almost immortal mage. It’s rather ironic, isn’t it? But in a way, we may just be like Frieren. Though we’re humans and perfectly aware that we will die someday, we still take the time that we have for granted and forget the gift of life, of waking up each day. Frieren is an incredible metaphor about the gift of living. 🤍

  28. Serie's conditions for becoming a First-class mage:
    ▪️If participant wants to fight her, uses magic for killing / fighting, sees her aura fluctuation, doesn't actually participate in the exam ➡️ Pass.
    ▪️If participant is fearful of her aura, doesn't imagine themselves as a First-class mage, Loves magic and wants to pursue it instead of using it as a weapon ➡️ Fail.
    ▪️If participant is Frieren: Fail, Humiliate her, after that have a nostalgic conversation together about the past, and then Ban her for 1000 years‼️

  35. Just to wrap up the season of this absolute peak of an anime, here are some of the one-liners, monologue and dialogue of each episode throughout the whole series that I find so memorable and impactful:

    1 "I barely knew anything about him. We only traveled together for ten years. I knew human lives were short. Why didn't I try to get to know him better."
