Edit: entering two teams was within rules, and it wasn't their fault that raven tail had cheated and got disqualified. In fact, Fairy Tail was twice Raven Tail's victim, losing the entire 10 points in the match between Lucy and Flare just because of outrageous cheating, about which nothing was ever done later! In any real life situation the win would've been given to lucy. Okay, I'll get over that. But now this? Both the higher and lower scores were earned by Fairy Tail itself. Nobody else had earned it for them. So how does it make sense for the management to take away their higher score? What if the lower score was much lower? And also, so Lucy's suffering was for naught? Her 8 points which got them their higher score was completely wasted?! And Raven Tail managed to cause them a disadvantage even after being disqualified because it was due to them being disqualified that Fairy Tail had to combine its two teams and accept the lower score? Where is the justice in this? Lucy might fet her glorious moments in the coming arcs but Mashima never gave her justice for the unfairness she went through in this arc.

Everyone is like 'mirajane should be there instead of gray in the strongest team' but they forget that gray is yet to fight seriously and get revenge from sabertooth, he's more necessary to the plot, mira already had a contest and won (even though it could've been more of a serious fight).
