  1. Thank you so much for posting all of these Crayon Shin Chan movies!! Truly appreciate it, and sincerely hope more can be posted in the future 🥰🙏🏻 thank you again, MuseAsia!

  2. This era (early 2010's till now); beginning with this movie; marks a trend of hit or miss for Crayon Shin-chan movies.

In my opinion, this movie is a miss for me simply because the movie seems to lack a unique or good story line with its premise, and its message about "Justice" or "Being a true hero" seems underwhelming compared to previous movies (especially the last one when they got isekaied into that cowboy movie).

But to be fair, I struggle to think a good story for it. The movie acts more like a compilation reel of many monster fights that the creators want to show off; while it's fun, I noticed the fights were too short and not too memorable, and probably why the climax (with Fake-Shinnosukeman) was short and anti-climatic (mostly out of time restraints and budget issues). Not only that, important expostions and characterization of Mirai-man and the time distortion that could help with the film's identity were lacking.

Still, the movie has its moments. The music was diversed and well composed; the cinematography for some of the Kaijuu attacks were great (especially the opening dream sequence); and the little comedy bits that we got with the Nohara family is still charming.

Luckily, next week's movie (the one about the Samba body snatchers) will be a fun one.
