A clever detail that you might have missed (Commenting again because the previous S2 Ep 14 got taken down for this new one.):
At 8:56, Shiro says, "It took me by surprise when I first entered the classroom. There was someone completely unexpected there."
Now, if you go back to S1 Ep11, (when Shiro first appears and enters the classroom) and jump to 5:34, you can see that he is walking towards korosensei, but then he suddenly stops, and looks at where Nagisa and "Kaede " are. Noticing his awkward pause, sensei says, "Yes?"
So yeah, Shiro really was surprised.
Furthermore, if you slow down the scene where he is looking towards the two, and play it at 0.25, frame by frame, you'll notice that at first Kaede is looking at Shiro, but as soon as she notices him looking towards her too, she very quickly turns her eyes towards Nagisa. It's impossible to catch this detail unless you view it frame by frame.
